13. Jan Boers
Jan Boers (1812-1896) was the passionate and beloved director of City Music in Delft. A musician, composer and collector of musical instruments, he belonged to the circle of friends of the Delft entrepreneurial couple Jacques and Agneta van Marken, known for the Gistfabriek (Yeast factory) and the Agnetapark. Boers composed the ‘Gistmars’ and the ‘Agnetamars’ for the Harmoniekapel, among others. He lived with his family on Wijnhaven 19 from 1855 to 1867.
