In 1972 Alquin releases their debut album Marks. After this release, the band acquires cult status and performs a lot at home as well as abroad. But despite small hits with ‘Wheelchair Groupie’ and ‘Fool In The Mirror’, the band fails to attain international success, leading to the band calling it quits in 1977. After a short clubtour in 1995, Alquin reunites yet again in 2003 in an almost unchanged line-up. Their successful One More Night-tour is followed by two new albums. The band’s final curtain is in 2012. Guitarist Ferdinand Bakker and singer Michel van Dijk continue their musical collaboration under the name ‘LONE’. The duo releases a new album almost every year. With ‘We Came a Long Way’, released in 2025, the count stands at seven (see number 3). Alquin rehearsed in student society Alcuin on Oude Delft 57.
