33. Sven Figee
Sven Figee is known to a larger audience through his many appearances on Dutch television show De Wereld Draait Door (The World Keeps Turning). He has a recording studio in Delft and in 2018 and 2019 he plays as a soloist with the Metropole Orkest, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and the Residentie Orkest. With his band Sven Hammond, he takes the main stage at Oerol and many other festivals throughout Europe. He performs with Anouk, Boudewijn de Groot, his son Marcel and with George Kooymans (Golden Earring). Since New Year’s Eve 2020 Sven has been the musical director of the Sven Hammond Big Band, the accompanying band of Matthijs van Nieuwkerk in the Saturday night show Matthijs Gaat Door (Matthijs Keeps Going). The show invariably attracts more than a million viewers, not least because of the fantastic music. Sven Figee performs regularly in Theater De Veste.
